Area physical therapist and chef Rachel Sherba wanted to give back to one of her favorite organizations, the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center, in a unique way that would allow her to use her talents and make an impact.
Her solution? A COLORnary Exploration – a ten-course tapas-style culinary adventure featuring courses of colors each represented by a hand-crafted entrée coupled with a colorful beverage.
Eight lucky patrons secured their slice of culinary heaven by bidding at the JRPC’s recent event, the Annual Peace Party.
Our design goal was to marry each of the 10 colors into a cohesive concept while creating a menu with premium materials that was easy for guests to read through each of the ten courses. The design is centered around a martini glass prism creating a cascade of color across the menu. Each page in the waterfall-style menu captures one of the colors while presenting the dish, beverage, benefits and mood of the color. The design is crowned with a transparent page explaining a brief background of color theory and chromotherapy.
The text block is atop an iridescent white board and hand-stitched with white/silver metallic thread creating a neutral base and grounding the design in a tactile, textured, and physically impressive way.
We proudly donated the menus to support Rachel in her effort to raise funds for the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center. It’s just one of the many benefits of being a local design company with strong roots right here in Missoula.
