Ask any Missoulian in the know and they’ll tell you the most exciting event of the year is the Hospice Care Foundation’s Hospice Ball. The event began more than 35 years ago and is still going strong with the support of the Missoula community and area organizations who purchase tickets and participate in the event’s many auctions and activities. This year Fly Design Company stepped in to help HCF showcase the event with a redesigned website.
The original website was informative and provided the necessary information to get the job done. We rebuilt the site from the ground up using a new platform to marry the existing content with a completely reinvented design that tied directly into the event’s branding for 2016 (posters, tickets, etc.).
We used the client’s provided logo and colors to present the Hospice Ball event’s information in a way that potential attendees could consume and maybe even daydream about participation. By removing the blocky content and giving users a truly immersive experience we were able to communicate the details of the event while improving outreach for the Hospice Care Foundation as the hosting organization.
The final site features parallax sections and animated sponsorship logos that keep the user on their toes as they explore the information. We showcased ticket options in a way that helped attendees understand each ticket package option before purchasing tickets online through a third-party site provided by HCF.
This site is built on WordPress with completely custom site elements from top to bottom. The platform will allow for continued use year after year with different colors, images and interactive elements. No matter how HCF chooses to theme the Ball, our site will reflect and complement it in every way. We can’t wait to see what they come up with next year!
We proudly donated our time to design and consult for this website. You can learn more about the Hospice Care Foundation and their important work on their website here.
